The first 'Application Weighted Carbon Footprint Calculation Training' of the year, organised in cooperation with TAU-SEM and Allianz Teknik, was held on 15-16 January 2024.
First Aid Certificates were presented to our staff

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız met with students studying at Mevlüde Genç Library during the final exam week. Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız chatted with the students in the library, offered them soup and bagels and wished them success in their exams.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız visited the Rector of Istanbul Rumeli University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara. Within the scope of the visit, possible academic cooperation issues between universities were discussed. The visit ended after taking a souvenir photo.

Table Tennis Tournament was Held at Our University
Organised by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, the Table Tennis Tournament was held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş The tournament, which took place between December 27-29, 2023, attracted great attention from our staff and students. Within the scope of the tournament, Buse Baytar ranked the first, Yudum Karakuş second and Rümeysa Özbek third in the women’s category, while Muhammet Zübeyir Berber ranked the first, Enes Barış Güler second and Ali Akşit third in the men's category. The winners received their awards from our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız.

Graduates of our University Ranked First in Business World Satisfaction
The Council of Higher Education (HEC) has published the work titled University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report-2023 where it evaluates 208 universities in Turkey in the categories of education and training, research and development, projects and publications, internationalization, sustainability, community service and social responsibility in terms of their contribution to higher education and the development they provide. 74 different indicators were taken as basis for the evaluation based on the data received from the Monitoring Criteria Module of the Higher Education Information System (YÖKSİS). As a result of the evaluations made in this context, our University ranked first among the state universities with the highest satisfaction rate of the business world regarding the qualifications of the graduates. With its inclusion in the list in 2022, Turkish-German University has achieved significant success with the performance of its graduates.

Our University Faculty of Law Faculty Board Meeting took place our at the School of Foreign Languages on December 21, 2023 with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci, Dean of Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Yıldız, our Vice Deans Prof. Dr. İrfan Akın and Assoc. The First of TGU Rector-Student Meetings Held
The first of TGU Rector-Student Meetings was held at SFL Conference Hall on December 20, 2023, with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and the Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın. Having the opportunity to ask the questions they were curious about in a friendly environment, our students received information about both campus life and Beykoz from the most authoritative names during the meeting. TGU Rector-Student Meetings will continue to be held without a specific agenda, with meetings to which well-known people from the world of bureaucracy, culture, politics and academia will be invited.
The Design Launch of Our Formula Student Team's New Vehicle was Held
The "Design Launch" of the vehicle of our University Formula Student Team to be produced for the 2023-2024 racing season was held in the D Block Conference Hall on December 20, 2023. A race simulation drive and competition were also held at the launch, which took place with the participation of Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya-Ferendeci, Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Dr. Ali Gökhan Yavuz, our University staff and students. Speaking at the launch, our Rector stated that they would always support student clubs and wished success to our Formula Student Team. The launch continued with a presentation that included information about the Formula Student Team and the vehicle to be produced for the 2023-2024 racing season.

THEQC Institutional Accreditation Program Evaluation Process was Held at our University
Within the scope of the 2023 Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP), Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Evaluation Team made a field visit at our University.
IDA "Digital Competencies and Entrepreneurship Center" Project Closing Meeting was Held
The "Digital Competencies and Entrepreneurship Center" project, which was implemented with the grant support of the Istanbul Development Agency (IDA) in cooperation with Beykoz Municipality and Turkish-German University, was announced with the closing and information meeting held on 13 November 2023 at Soğuksu Yücel Çelikbilek Youth Center. The people who had participated in the project such as Turkish-German University faculty members, instructors and students attended the meeting. At the closing and information meeting of the project, where our university's academic staff provided support in digital content production and digital education platform design, the Mayor of the Beykoz District, Murat Aydın, and our Vice Rector Prof. Aysel Uzuntaş, District Director of National Education in Beykoz, Sevcenur Özcan and Assoc. Prof. Elif Posos Devrani, who is the academic coordinator of the project, made speeches.
"Gaza in Palestine: 6000 Years of Cultural History and Tangible Cultural Heritage" was presented by our faculty member Dr. Detlev Quintern
Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences Lecturer Dr. Detlev Quintern's presentation entitled "Gaza in Palestine: 6000 Years of Cultural History and Tangible Cultural Heritage" was held at the School of Foreign Languages Conference Hall. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, academic staff and students attended the program. In his speech, Dr. Quintern talked about the important structures that have been destroyed in Gaza throughout history, the conservation of cultural memory and cultural memory objects, and conveyed the history and multi-layered cultural structure of Gaza through concrete examples.
Our Creative Media Laboratory (YAMEDLAB) Hosted High School and Secondary School Students
YAMEDLAB hosted high school and secondary school students on 7-8 December 2023, within the scope of the "Digital Competencies and Entrepreneurship Center" project, which was implemented in cooperation with our University and Beykoz Municipality and with the grant support of Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA). Within the scope of the program, students of Celal Aras Anatolian High School, Beykoz Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Kavacık Borsa Istanbul Secondary School, Beykoz Koç Secondary School and Beykoz Science High School were informed about YAMEDLAB with a presentation. The program ended with a campus tour after the presentation.
Fire Evacuation Drill was Held at Our University
A fire building evacuation drill was organized to prepare our university staff and students for possible disasters and to raise awareness about how to act in emergency situations. The drill, which was held on December 5, 2023, included all buildings across the campus. In the drill, which started with the sound of a siren, staff and students were directed to the Emergency Assembly Areas designated on campus by following the emergency exit routes in the buildings and the buildings were evacuated safely. After the evacuation of the buildings, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş and our Secretary General Harun Ceylan reviewed the precautions that can be taken against fire at the Crisis Desk and evaluated the success of the drill.

Turkish-Japanese-German Conference on "The Requirements of the Rule of Law in Civil Procedural Law" was held at the Turkish-German University on 23-25 November 2023. The three-day conference started with the opening speech of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız.
